Melinda Bishop Jackson  BATTLE CREEK, MI
Caitlyn was diagnosed March 1, 2010 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. After climbing many mountains, she finished her chemotherapy July 1, 2012. Never in our minds did we ever think we would hear the words, Caitlyn's cancer is back, but we did July 31, 2013.
On October 18, 2013 she will be admitted to Mott Children's Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI to begin preparation for a Bone Marrow Transplant that will take place October 25th. Caitlyn is very lucky that she has a match, her brother Nicholas.
Caitlyn and I (mom) will be staying in Ann Arbor once she is able to be released from the hospital for an extended stay (months) due to the many complications that could occur, but we pray do not. While her insurance will pick up part of the bill for where we will be staying and give us a small amount for food it will not pay for all. Along with other expenses we will have, gas and other necessities of living away from home. Also, the cost involved with her dad, brothers, and little sister being able to come visit.

Update 3

We want to thank everyone that has donated and those that are saying extra prayers and good thoughts.
Hard to believe that in a week we will be packing the Jeep for our "temporary move" to Ann Arbor. Won't find out until Thursday what time we have to be at Mott. Today Caitlyn had more tests, these were able to be done at Bronson. Monday she has a bone marrow and lp at Bronson, Tuesday it's more appointments at Mott in Ann Arbor.
Thank you again for your support and continued prayers

Update 2

Just wanted to let those that may have wondered where the money donated will go. The cost of the place where Caitlyn and Melinda will be staying in Ann Arbor after Caitlyn is released from the hospital is going to cost between $300 - $750 a month (after Caitlyn's insurance pays what they will pay) depending upon where the social worker is able to get us in. Also the cost of the food and other necessities of day to day living. From what we've been told we will be staying in Ann Arbor about 6 months. There is also the additional cost of the rest of the family being able to come visit as often as possible, especially during the holidays (yep it's going to really stink being away from home Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Valentines) so we want them to be able to come as much as possible as this will help keep all our spirits up as much as can be during our time away from each other. Thank You for your continued prayers and good thoughts.
