On Oct 22nd my beautiful 18 Month old niece had a little fall and split her lip, as kids do at that age.  A quick trip to the walk in clinic and no stitches where required but the doctor noticed she was pale.  He ordered bloodwork, On October 26 my niece received a call to get Rylee to McMasters Children’s hospital right away.  She was rushed right into a room on arrival and for the first time our family heard the word Leukemia.    No family should hear these words.  A series of blood transfusions and tests followed and on Monday Oct 30th the diagnosis was told to the parents of AML which means 6 - 8 months in the hospital for intense Chemotherapy.
Rylee has an older sister and brother, Abigail (6) and Landon (4).  Her parents Jayson and Ashley are trying to keep things normal for them as well.  The main problem is that they live in Beamsville Ontario and the Hospital is in Hamilton Ontario.  So they are currently switching back and forth so that someone is in each place.  As you can imagine the toll for this is high.  Dad has taken a leave from work to be with his family so financially they are out of pocket already and with the added cost of gas and parking as well as the little extras, just a cup of hospital coffee or tea it is stretching everyone’s budget.  We are a strong close family who will support them as much as possible but we all have our own struggles paying bills and keeping up in these tight times which is why was are asking for help to keep this family on its feet so that we can concentrate on getting Rylee better and helping her brother and sister not feel left out or left behind in all of the chaos.

Wow! It has been an incredible journey for our little warrior and her family. Today she was discharged from Sick Kids hospital in Toronto to continue as an outpatient for the next Three months. While we are all overjoyed at her release it comes with a heavy price. There is no room at RMH for Rylee and her family. This means that her parents will have to pay for hotels in Toronto. There is no other options as she must stay near the hospital for her outpatient care. They are looking at $300 for 2 nights. At this rate the hotel bills will easily reach into the thousands. Thank you all who have donated we ask that you please share to get awareness and hopefully get more donations. Thank you all.

Please watch as Rylee takes the next steps on her journey.

On Feb 2 2018 Rylee Grace had her Rebirthday. This is the day she received her big sister Bone Marrow and Stem cell donation. She took the infusion perfectly with no complications! Big sister Abigail also took on the day with not a single tear and with a smile on her face.
We are now on what's called Day +2 and are starting to see Rylee's numbers drop. Once this happens Abbies cells will be able to make their new home in Rylee's body. This process takes between 2-4 with no other complications.
We would like to thank you all for the continued support for our family

Hello everyone! Sorry I have not updated lately. Tomorrow (Jan. 16). Rylee makes the trip to Toronto’s sick kids hospital to Be accessed by Doctors ahead of her Transplant which we were told would take place on Jan 25th. Today we were told due to her infections the doctors at sick kids may send her back to Hamilton if they feel that she shows signs of illness. My first thought was she has cancer but she can not show signs of illness? I do understand however that this is a one time shot and they need her to be at her best, to give us the best chance. So fingers crossed our little warrior does well tomorrow and is not sent back to Hamilton.

Much love and a big Thank you to all of you who are following our story and who have donated. You kindness means the whole to us.

Aunt Tracey
