This is a story that no one likes to read about, but its our current situation and if you just hear me out, maybe you can consider us. My family right now is about to become homeless. The house we are currently in is being sold and while the new property owners have been gracious letting us stay here until we got enough money to get out, the economy has not been gracious, and the job market either. Lots of temp jobs that end too soon. We recieve food stamps which has kept us fed and goverment assistance, but its not getting us the funds we need to get out and to a new place. My family is a large one. We have 3 adults and 4 kids. In the last two years tragedy had struck 3 of our children with the death of there biological mother. That trauma took a lot of our time and energy in emotionally helping our kids to learn to deal with the loss of their mom. A second tragety struck when the landlord of the property we inhabit tried to take her own life while the kids and us lived with her. She was like a second mother to these kids and so they had another mother figure lost. The landlord gave up the property and disappeared. Two of the adults here have been trying very hard to get jobs that arent temporary, but hasnt been very fruitful. In regards to myself, i have been seeking disability help from the state, but that takes a while and we are coming down to the wire. It was a very dark time for us. Still is. And we need help. We have some offers from the buyer, about 2k, to get up and out of here, but its just not enough. Im making this gofundme account to ask you consider helping us so we dont have to place the kids in granparents homes and couch surf until we find a place. Please help. Im not a big fan of asking for money, and I wouldnt ask for it if we werent desperate, but we are. Thank you for your consideration.

Thank you to everyone that reads this page. If nothing else I hope to raise awareness of how fragile simply living with a roof over your head is.

We're living out of doors now. The adults that is. We've had to split up our kids, two staying with my parents, two staying with my finacees parents. I can't thank them enough for their help. I, my fiancee and our room mate are living out of doors. Homeless. Not something this white boy raised in the suburbs ever thought he'd face. This is reality though and money trumps human lives these days.

I have a job, I'm starting this week. Installing audio/video equipment for clients, so hopefully this is just temporary.

Please, if you can help me get my family back together in a safe place, donate. If you can't donate, please share this. We are simply trying to live and raise our children in safety.

Thank you, if for nothing else, your time in reading this.

Jason and I have employement now, so getting into a place will be less strressful on that front, however we still dont have enough money this week to fill out application to the apartments that said they could help us. We would have to wait until friday, and the units arent sticking around long. Plus we have a lawsuit just arrive giving us to the 11th. If we could get a 110 to 150 more money before the end of the week, it might get us into a apartment we so desperately needd. Thanks to all your help weve come rhis far. Im reposting this once more if you could share it too. Bless you all. The Harris/Scruggs clan.

Happy Holidays everyone! A heartfelt thank you to the donators of our gofund me. Not much has changed unfortunately, so we are turning to transitional housing for help.

This week we had packages arrive on our doorstep with a different holiday suprise. There was a note on the box telling us that our family has been selected for the twelve days of christmas project. We will be recieving them for the next twelve (9 now)days. Th first had santa hats, the second was rudolf flashy noses and yesterday we got socks. Its so heartwarming to see the kids faces brighten and wear the items around the house. We also have been blessed with wonderful toys for christmas. ♡♡

Ill post some picts. Thank you all.
