Playground/Park Project at OKOCC

Old King's Orchard Community Center (OKOCC) is located in the Old King's Orchard inner-city neighborhood in Decatur, Illinois.  Through the generous funding of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois and the "KaBOOM!" organization, we have the opportunity to receive a beautiful new playground to be used by OKOCC families and anyone in the neighborhood and community.  This is an incredible opportunity for our neighborhood because we have a lack of safe play areas for children.  The community is being asked to participate in all areas of the planning, design, and building of the playground, which will be completed by the end of September.
Our fundraising goal is set at $10,000.  In order to receive the playground (valued at over $85,000), we must raise 10% or $8,500.  The additional $1,500 is money that will be used toward maintenance and replacing the ground surfacing as needed.  Any amount that you can give to help us reach this goal will be much appreciated!
