House Fire

Those affected by the house fire: Sam, Mandi, Cheyenne (14), Savannah (15), BreAnna (12), James (8).

Around 3:00am January 2, 2019 Sam awoke to go to the restroom. He heard a banging knock by his girlfriend's 12 daughter. She informed him the love seat in the living room was on fire. He ran that way, and tried to extinguish the fire to no avail. He slid the love seat away from the wall, but that only revealed even more flames behind it. He yelled for his girlfriend to wake and gather the 4 children in the home and get outside safely.

He tried using water to extinguish the fire, and that did not work. Mandi tried to get the outside water hose, but that was kinked. Sam shouted and asked if everyone was out, and they said no, one more daughter was inside. She had seen the smoke and became frightened, so she shut herself in her room. He got to her and told her she must get out. The two of them ran out the front door, and at that point the living room flames were 6 ft high and right by the front door.

When they got outside at a safe distance, they looked back to see the entire front porch engulfed in flames. They moved even further away to the street, looked back and saw the entire house engulfed. He said it was 2 minutes or less that the entire situation took place. 4 dogs did not make it. 2 have yet to be found in the ashes, and 2 died of smoke inhalation. Sam buried the two he found this afternoon. The girls are missing their grandmother's ashes, and heirlooms from their Grandmother. Some things can never be replaced.

The entire family is grateful to have one another alive, and very devastated at the loss of their family pets. Everyone made it out of the house barefoot, with just their pajamas on.

Specific needs will be posted as soon as they are gathered together. It has been a chaotic day. I am Sam's little sister, and thought I could get this going as everyone keeps asking what they can do to help. Prayer is the greatest need, and so many have been doing so!
