Emergency Funds For My Sick Father

$3,190 of $7,000 goal

Hello everyone my name is Raquel, I am writing to share this story about my father, Frank Morin. My father Frank works 2 jobs just to make sure we have everything we need. Just recently about a month ago he had not been feeling well. He passed out at work and they did several tests then the doctor discharged him with a wrong diagnosis of muscle spasms. After still feeling sick he went in to St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN on September 14th, 2017. There they ran some test and saw that his platelets were drastically low, very abnormal. The main cause for platelets being so low is due to diseases, mainly cancer. Just so you can get an idea platelets are supposed to be anywhere from 150,000 – 450,000, his platelets were 14,000. We were scared and worried and we prayed for it to not be so. The doctor ordered a spinal tap to get a clearer picture of what was going on. The very next day the results came in and the doctor told us the news that my father Frank indeed has cancer; leukemia to be exact. We are devastated! St. Mary’s wouldn’t discharge him because they needed to monitor him closely and he is still there to this day 12 days later. His platelets were getting back up because of the several interventions that the doctors and nursing staff administered, they did platelet transfusions. They also did a surgical procedure and put a port in his head. They are administering chemo therapy through this port. He is will have 6 months – 1 year of chemo therapy. Needless to say my father has been through hell and back in a matter of a couple weeks. His life as he once knew it of working and enjoying his time off with my mom, brother, and I no longer exist. The chemo is causing his hair to fall out by the clumps. He is fatigued and doesn’t have much energy these days. My mother, brother, and I have been by his side every single day. I am currently 6 months pregnant and working 2 jobs to help my parents out, but it’s just not enough. He is constantly telling me to not work so much yet he’s stressing out constantly about our current financial needs. He hasn’t been working in 3 weeks and the bills are starting to come in. We do not have enough for the rent that is due on the 1st of October. Our landlord hasn’t showing us any mercy and we have to come up with $1,000 by then. We also have to move as we cannot afford this rent anymore. We are barely holding on with groceries, gas, and other expenses we have to cover without his income. We also have a disconnection notice for our lights and gas. My father is an over thinker and is already stressing about being off of work for possibly a year. The nurse and doctors are saying the stress is causing him to regress. This is why I decided to create this go fund me. If we can get some financial help my father doesn’t have to stress out or worry so much and he can focus on getting better. Any amount will do. I pray that God would reward you greatly, thanks for your support!
