Help Rescue My Rescue, Kovu

Last weekend I went to Houston to help victims of Harvey demo their homes. I decided to look around at the animal shelters in my free time and ended up falling in love with a little black kitten who flung eye pus on me from across the room. I tried to talk myself out of it but I knew if I didn’t take him home, that he would be put down. During the adoption I was misinformed about the severity of his illness, and I’m now learning Kovu’s ability to see is at stake. This kitten has been through the worlds amount of trauma- from being abandoned by 3 different owners, to being accused of being violent and quarantined. Now, despite my best efforts, his ‘small’ viral infection may be condemning his future. I want to provide him with all the care he deserves but my two jobs are barely making ends meet-I was told that getting an appointment with an ophthalmologist could cost $300, not including medication/procedure costs.. I want to do everything I can to try and bring him back to health and preserve his sight. It’s the least I could do for how much of an impact he’s made on my life, and to those around us.
