Help Us Build A Computer Lab

Hi everyone, my name is Yaw Sam and I am the founder of SPREADIT GH .
A couple of months ago, I saw a video circulating on social media where students where being taught ICT or introduction to computers using objects such as stones to represent the various parts of a computer.
Some people laughed at it and others felt sorry for them. This is something that got me thinking a lot, especially when technology is the way forward in this world. Why do these kids lack basic experience or first hand knowledge of using a ‘real’ computer or accessory. It’s no fault of theirs, they just find themselves in that situation by no choice of theirs.
Recently, there was also a teacher seen drawing the Microsoft word interface on a blackboard.
I always go to bed thinking about how to help these kids get the basic knowledge I have in computers. How to help them experience and use real computers so that they are not found wanting when they have to face the ‘real world’.
After I while, I got funding to do research with the help of my mentor, Ms. Bonnie Garcia, from the Office of Engaged Scholarship and Learning, University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, and realized that schools that do not have access to computers in learning of ICT have poor academic results in general compared to the ones that have these resources.
This got me to start a non-profit organization calledSPREAD IT GH which helps spread computer literacy across Ghana.
This fund will help set up a fully furnished computer lab for Odumase Nyamekyere Primary School, to help them start of their journey in being more interested in education as well as the field of IT.
We visited the school in January, 2018 and realized they have never been in direct contact with a computer or laptop.

Kindly help us spread computer literacy by helping these kids have a real time experience with computers in their schools.
