Renn's Medical Bills and Family Lodging

Renn (or, Jedi Renn, as many people call him) was diagnosed with Epilepsy just four days after his 5th birthday. Since then, his seizures have gone from one a week, to no less than three a day. He is now 6 1/2, and is ready to be rid of Epilepsy.
Renn has endured 9 medications, countless MRIs, Video EEGs, a CT scan, PET Scan, SPECT scan, and just recently had a Bilateral Frontal and Temporal Burr Hole implantation of Subdural Strip Electrodes, where they drilled four holes into his skull to further pinpoint where his seizures are coming from. The problem has always been that no matter what we did, his seizures would not stop. But this last trip to UCSF, gave us a word that we'd never heard before when dealing with Renn... CURE.
We have finally been given the good (and heart wrenching) news that on October 28th, he will go back to the hospital and have a grid placed directly onto his sweet, little brain. In the days after, we will pray for enough seizure activity that the doctors will know for certain whether the seizures are stemming from his right temporal lobe, or right frontal lobe. When they determine the location, the doctors will go in, remove the grid, and then remove the problematic area. Yes, that could mean that his entire temporal lobe would be removed.
So, we are raising money for two things: 1. For the ever increasing medical bills that are piling up, and 2. For lodging during this two week stay that he will endure.
You see, UCSF medical center is 4+ hours away from our home. The Ronald McDonald house is an option, but we cannot be put onto a list until Renn is admitted. And even then, there's no guarantee that we will get in. We would love to stay together as a family, and not have Renn's father and little brother stay behind at home, as they have had to do each stay Renn has had. Renn will need the familiarity, the love, and the support from his ENTIRE family, while going through this. Hotels in the area offer a small discount, but even then, we will not be able to cover the costs of groceries and the room.
Renn is a strong, vibrant Jedi who loves Star Wars so much, all he wants is to meet George Lucas. :) He says often that he "Isn't afraid because Jedis are never afraid, plus God is always taking care of [him]."
