Bud's Brave Battle

WHO:

We are the family of Walter "Bud" Thompson.  We have set up this page out of hope and love for this man.
Bud Thompson is his wife's soulmate, and best friend. He is the father of five loving children, and grandfather of three. He is a son, brother, uncle, friend, and most importantly a man of God.  If you know who Bud Thompson is, you already know that he knows no stranger.  He calls everyone friend; he is the kindest person we know.  He would literally give you the shirt off his back, and all the money in his pocket which we have witnessed many times over. He is old school, a man of honor, and his word is his bond.

 THE DETAILS:
On the night of February 17, 2016, Bud Thompson was taken to Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.  He was concerned about the loss of fine motor skills, and localized spots of itching along the left side of his body.  A CT scan was ordered, and the results showed a mass in his head.  He was then rushed by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK.   A covey of loved ones were gathered within minutes of the news in show of support just as Bud has done for so many of us..
Everyone settled in for the night while others finished their drive from TX.  The next morning Mercy ordered MRI, and a full body CT scan.  The neurologist then confirmed to the family that Bud does have a brain tumor in the right side of his brain.  They did rule out that there are no other masses in his body.
On the morning of February 19th, 2016, the Thompson Family met with a neurosurgeon to discuss the severity of the tumor, and any possible options they may have.  The best way to describe the tumor is to compare it to a grassfire.  They are not concerned about the center of the tumor or the "burnt" part.  However, the outside edges are spreading or "burning" rapidly.  The doctors believe that the tumor is growing aggressively due to how recent his symptoms have been showing, and the size of the tumor.  It would be a very high risk operation to get a biopsy due to the location of the tumor.
This is the part that we as a family are humbly asking for your help.  We could use any prayer, monetary donation, or encouraging word that you can put forth.  We believe that the best option for our dad/husband/uncle/son/brother/friend is prayer, a nutritional diet, and a consultation with a specialist at MD Anderson in Houston, TX.

THE FUNDS:
These funds will be used for medical bills, living expenses during this trial, and traveling expenses to and from MD Anderson for Bud Thompson.   We are not sure exactly what day the appointment is yet, but we will update you.  We are hopeful and praying that we can get him in immediatley.

THE FAMILY:
This family cannot express words for how grateful we are for your help.  Bud Thompson wants to watch all his children grow,  and we are a family that believes he will.  We have already been humbled by each prayer that has been said on behalf of him, and the number of people who have come by to show thier love and support.  We thank you for every donation that is given.  We are also thankful to everyone who has shared Bud's story. We ask that even if you cannot donate to please pray and share this link.
