4Paws4Patriots Service Dogs

The Beginning... It all started simply enough, over 35 years ago, as a veteran struggling with reintegrating into civilian life, our founder, Tim LeBlanc found that working with and training dogs had an incredible life changing and positive effect on his own life. It wasn’t long before the concept of 4 Paws 4 Patriots was born. Soon he was training dogs hand in hand with other disabled veterans to help them with their disabilities both physical and emotional. Although the concept of assistance/service dogs was in its infancy, the results were clear. Incredible changes were being made for the good in the lives of these men and women that had given so much to serve our country.

Today... After many years of research, development, and service to disabled veterans, 4 Paws 4 Patriots has evolved into a unique and innovative program that is not only successful in our mission but also repeatable and easily expandable. As I am sure you know, there is no shortage of disabled veterans that need our help. The only limiting factor is funding.

How is 4 Paws 4 Patriots different from other organizations?

 - Cost: 4 Paws 4 Patriots refuses to charge a disabled veteran for training a service dog. (Costs can exceed $30,000 with other organizations)

- Waiting Period: Due to our unique program that trains the veteran and service dog together, 4 Paws 4 Patriots has the shortest waiting list possible. Often veterans can attend their first class the same day they sign up.

- Application Process: It's simple... Are you a disabled veteran? If yes, you will have a one on one interview to determine if a service dog can help and if the appropriate conditions of care for the dog, etc. can be met. If yes, fill out a short registration packet with assistance and join the next available class. (Many organizations have a waiting list that is measured in years.... not days, weeks, or months. Two to five years from first point of contact is common.)

The Future of 4 Paws 4 Patriots...

The future of 4 Paws 4 Patriots is bright and the opportunities are abundant! Our plans for 2015 include adding another professional trainer, two assistant trainers, professional life coaching opportunities, expansions into two new locations, double to triple the number of disabled veterans serviced, and establish a therapy dog program.  Again, the only limiting factor is funding. This is where you come in.

I believe in the ability of a dog to bring comfort, peace, and love to our disabled veteran.

A birthday wish from a little 8 year girl named Nani-Kai. She wanted us to give to a charity instead of a bithday present. What a sweet girl!
