For thousands of struggling families in Silicon Valley, all roads to affordable child care lead through Community Child Care Council of Santa Clara County (4Cs).

As early childhood educators and advocates for low-income families, we are committed to the families we see and serve every day.

Now, we need your support.

Our nearly year-long struggle for a fair first contract has been marked with management intimidation and stalling negotiating tactics.

Dozens of us went on strike in July for two days, willing to lose income in order to fight for a voice at work.

Our employer's response was to hire its fourth, union-busting law firm whose website boasts about its record of defeating workers.

What are we fighting for?

Mario, a veteran 4Cs employee, is fighting for a workplace that doesn't harass its employees.

Ysenia is fighting for management support and transparency so that we can enroll children into our preschools and keep them in a stable learning environment.

Fred, father to a special needs son, is fighting for a better workplace because treating employees better can only improve conditions for our families and community.

Rosalba has a beautiful daughter and is pregnant with another little girl. She understands more than anyone that each paycheck is vital, but so is respect and dignity for workers.

As members of Service Employees International Union Local 521, we call on the community to stand with us as we fight for dignity, respect and a voice at work so that we can continue putting our community first!

We hope we won't need to go on strike again. But if we have to, we will.  We hope we can count on your support.
