Unexpected loss

Starting off the year with an unexpected loss, no one expects to take another loss when they go to bed. Well, that is exactly what happened over the weekend due to someone else's negligence. My father had lost my mom the beginning of this year. Now he lost his home due to a fire that was started in the neighbor's garage. I myself,  and my family could have been victims as well because we live in the front unit from my dad. Not having renter's insurance is one thing every renter should think about now days. Red Cross is a great help on helping to a certain extent. He is on a fixed income and now days,  rent is so high everywhere. He is a private person who prefers to live alone. Rebuilding is in the works but not sure how long that will take. Anything will help to try to get a deposit going for a place and to get some utilities. He escaped with only the clothes on his back and a bag of blankets he managed to grab. He doesn't really need much but just loves to watch Laos shows on YouTube to make himself feel like he was back in the countries.
