In Memory of Evangeline

On August 8th, 2017 we lost our baby girl. Evangeline Assunta Farrugia was only 23 months old when we lost her. A curious girl that loved the world and loved everyone she met. The three of the girls (Courtney, Brittany, and Evangeline) flew to Arizona ahead of their mother and grandmother (Amanda and Carmen) when tradgey struck us. First, our mother and grandmother got stuck in New Mexico. The van's transmission blew and it was totaled. Uncle Wayne drove from Phoenix to eastern New Mexico to pick them both up. We were starting a new life but we lost our transportation. If this was the worst thing to happen to us than it wouldn't be that bad of a thing at all.

On Tuesday evening, Amanda heard our dog barking in a way he never barked before. She knew immedately that something was wrong. She ran outside and witnessed what a mother should never see in her life. Evangeline was lying in Uncle Wayne's pool. Uncle Wayne ran out and tried to perform CPR on her. The paramedics air lifted her to the hospital but she was declared dead upon arrival much to our family's dismay.

Evangeline crawled out the doggie door and that is how she got outside. Evangeline loved the water and wanted to go swimming the whole day. We believe once she got out she wandered too close to the pool and fell in.

From all across the country, family poured in. Uncle Matthew left in the middle of his college classes and her sister Sara flew in with her father. We have had family friends pouring out support from all across the world. We can't thank you all enough for your support.

Evangeline was such a sweet, happy child. She had such a huge impact on everyones lives both inside and outside of the family, everyone who met her instantly feel in love with her. Its not fair what happened to her but we know God has a plan. I making this account to cover funeral costs and to spread awareness to the situation. God took her life because God needed another pure angel.

Even death can not stop Evangeline from giving and being a light for others. Evangeline is now going to donate three of her heart valves that will save three other babies.
