Aaron Goes To Woodward

Donation protected

This is my amazing son Aaron (7) he is passionate about skateboarding and has a plan for making his biggest dream come true and helping other children at the same time.

1) What is Aaron raising money for?

Aaron is raising money so that he can achieve his life ambition of going to Woodward PA (USA), because why wait until you're an adult to learn that you can achieve such great ambitions??
Woodward Camp is every young skateboarder's  Mecca with some of the world's best skateboard ramps, bowls and parks.
During his campaign he will also be raising funds for his local skatepark, Dynamix (Gateshead) who are funding and planing the build of an extreme sports and circus school in Malawi called Dynamix School of Life.

2) Why ?

Aaron has been inspired by the 'giving back' ethos of his skateboard idols such as Tony Alva, Tony Hawk and Chris Cole. Despite his young age and level he believes he can help 'give back' to Dynamix, a social enterprise that has enabled him to develop into a strong, confident and compassionate individual . Since Aaron began skateboarding at Dynamix he has overcome some very challenging emotional and personal barriers to learning. He has built friendships which transcend all generations and seen his confidence and self esteem grow by the hour. Dynamix helped provide him with a safe, exciting, and inspiring environment where he can explore his limits (or lack of) and push his creativity guided by some very highly skilled teachers. Helping raise funds for Dynamix's project is Aaron's way of saying 'thank you' whilst spreading his love for skateboarding; helping children in Malawi access the same amazing facilities that he has benefited from over here in the UK. As a family we strongly believe in raising awareness of the importance of these facilities in providing life inspiring education. Dynamix School of Life is the perfect embodiement of how we believe education should look and work.

3) Dynamix School of Life The founders (Rico and Rosa) of Dynamix  skatepark are currently working on developing and creating their first Dynamix School of Life. The School will provide an alternative approach to teaching and learning similar to Montessouri, Sands and Steiner schools. Dynamix School of Life will teach children in cross-curricular and child led/initiated lessons, as they strongly believe that the best learning and personal growth is achieved whilst having fun and applying knowledge to tangible experiences. Pupils will be able to learn anything from how to fix motocross engines to acting and performance skills. Dynamix are hoping to raise enough funds by 2020 to begin the shipping of materials over to Malawi.

4)How the funds will be used and raised?

The funds raised will help finance Aaron and his mum's trip to Woodward (travel and camp ~£2000)
Aaron's mum will be helping out at the camp during his stay so as to get his week discounted by $300. The other funds Aaron raises will go towards the cost of some of the ramps for Malawi's School of Life. As well as relying on all your kind donations we will also be working very hard to raise all the money we can through regular sponsored events, competitions and toy sales :) We aim to go to Woodward,PA (Pensylvania) in summer 2018.
Aaron has already set a date for his first 'Sponsored Skate' in September and we will keep you all updated about his events and progress.
