Help Max See
Imagine never being able to see a boat on the horizon, a star in the sky or even a stage performance. This is reality for Max. He relys on us to paint the picture for him. I remember being on a cruise ship, Max was about 4, and we were watching the dolphins play, my daughter was so excited, Max looks at me and says 'Mum, I can't see them.' So I explained to him with hand actions, 'they are happily jumping alongside the ship, up and down, the water is so clear, they are having so much fun, we will count as they jump' he looks at me and says "oh, yeah I see it now." so as they jumped I told him and he counted them so happily. He never complains, he never wants anyone to feel sorry for him, he says 'god only makes eyes like these for special people.' I want more then anything for him to be able to see the dolphins. there is a possibility for this to happen, esight has designed electronic glasses enabling 85% of the legally blind to see. But they are not available in Australia, as they are costly to make, and don't have an authorized distributor here. so for us to be able to get these for Max, will will have to travel to the US or canada, and the cost of the glasses alone is at least $10,000us. This is just not possible in our circumstance. I thought I would create this go fund me page to see if we can raise some fund to help get Max these glasses, even the smallest of donations will help, I understand if you can't donate, but sharing this page will help us reach our goal. Thank you for taking the time to read, and I hope to update when Max can see. This page has been updated to raise funds to help get us overseas, link to support the purchase of the esight glasses below, we will add any funds raised from esight to the gofund me goal total. If we can get esight to Australia, we won't need the extra for overseas expenses, so all donations after the purchase of Max's esight glasses will be donated to the purchase of another Australian's glasses.
