Macaroni's Second Chance

I came across Macaroni on the Love For Paws Rescue page. While I often see dogs and cats on there, I don't often share their stories, but I felt angry and frustrated seeing this little guy. In that frustration, I posted about how I wished I had the deposit required for having pets in my apartment so that I could could show the little guy that it doesn't have to be like this. Within a matter of minutes people I knew had started to make pledges to help achieve the goal.
I was taken aback as the intent wasn't to actually raise the money, I was just venting. However, I started to get excited at the thought of how everyone wanted to pitch in to help. So I dug into my lease to see what it would cost and figured "why not." I don't take this task lightly as I know Macaroni will need some serious help to gain back his trust of the world, but I know from past experience that animals need a bit of love and encouragement and they'll remember the way things should be. I could use a good companion to make my days a little brighter as well (everyone can).
So that brings us here. I've set the bar slightly higher to cover any costs of using a service like GoFundMe (they charge a small percentage on the money) and any extra will be used to pick up Macaroni some extra goodies (a big bone!) and give Love For Paws Rescue a donation (they have graciously agreed to waive their nominal fee and make sure Macaroni has all his shots and medical needs from the bite marks taken care of).
I wanted to thank everyone in advance, especially those who jumped at the chance on my Facebook post to help this little guy. I'll keep everyone posted.
PS Spoke with my leasing office and the actual cost of the deposit is $400 plus a non-refundable $200. The extra $200 will cover costs of transfer of money from here to my account, some gifts for Macaroni, and a donation to Love For Paws Rescue. Any additional amounts over the goal will be split up between Macaroni's care and Love For Paws Rescue. If the goal is not met, all monies will be donated to Love For Paws Rescue.
