Cop Adopts Victim Of Child Abuse

In April of 2015, Jody Thompson encountered 8 year-old John in the midst of an investigation of the worst child abuse case he had ever seen. John's parents had bound his wrists, submerged him in ice water and tried to drown him. He was covered in bruises from head to toe. When Jody first saw John, he knew the only way to keep him safe was to keep him nearby. The Thompsons adopted John into their family of two kids and one on the way. 7 months later John's mother gave birth to his baby sister in jail. They adopted her, too.
