Insulin pump for a better life...

Donation protected
My name is jeremy hicks. I am 36 years old. I am a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic. I was diagnosed in 1996 at the age of 12. I also have Graves disease (thyroid), which is also an auto-immune disease. Twenty four years of chronic illness has taken its toll on my body significantly. I had a heart attack, have had 2 major surgerys to correct occular(eye) swelling. I suffer from seizures when my blood sugar gets low. I have high blood pressure and problems with kidney function. Approximately 3 years ago I was put on social security disability because significant nerve damage (neuropathy) related to blood sugar control. An insulin pump would serve me as an artificial pancreas. It would help me to conrol my blood sugars to levels of a non diabetic. I always assumed insulin pumps would eventually become more affordable or would become covered by standard health insurance plans. Unfortunately for me all the years later pumps remain out of the question for me financially and are still not covered by health insurance. I am unable physically to supplement my disability check. My disability check is my one and only source of income. While I am blessed and thankful for it, it barely is enough to survive on. I have unsucessfully tried everything I can think of to get a pump myself. All that has happened is Ive gotten older and the effects of the disease have gotten worse. So when I saw this I had the thought that maybe thru the blessing and generosity of others I could get something that would be a life changing tool in my struggle against my disease. I would do anything to acquire one by my own means, but I simply cannot get one on my own. For year after year I have had nothing positive whatsoever to deal with. This offers a real glimmer of hope and possibility for positive news where nothing but negatives have existed. So im asking for help, because I need it. Anything at all would be more than appriciated. The opportunity to get a pump thru the generosity of others is more than I deserve. Anything not needed for the pump will be donated to reasearch finding a cure for diabetes. Thank you and God bless.
