$40 for 40 Years - Camp Joy NC

Camp Joy NC is 40 years old! It's not every year that you can celebrate the special birthday of a camp that has impacted so many in such a significant way. Camp Joy NC is a Christian camp for those with intellectual disabilities, held over the course of four weeks every summer. Founded in 1980, the camp has been blessed to serve over 650 campers and their families over the years. Hundreds are awaiting their opportunity on our waiting list. 

We celebrate our campers at Camp Joy! They are matched one to one with a counselor, "special friend," for the week, as they take part in the same activities that any other person would if they were to go to camp. Campers have the opportunity to participate in numerous activities, such as zip line, climbing walls, canoeing, crafts, swimming, etc.,.  All of this wrapped in the love of Jesus.

During this special celebration, we're asking friends to consider giving $40 (or whatever you are able) to celebrate 40 years with our goal of raising $40,000. These funds will help to ensure that the first 40 years of Camp Joy are just a foundation upon which an exciting and effective future is built. Your gift will help current and future campers, along their families, to be blessed by attending a week of camp
