This is step one. My name is Bill Ed Huff, and my song, "Three Times, Peter", was written in one sitting in late 1994 (copyrighted 1995) and has been shared in churches over the Lenten season for the past 22 years.
Many requests to record and share the song have been made over time, and because of my wife Debbie's battle with Ovarian cancer that has metastasized as of early 2017 and because of a desire to help the Springfield, MO Gynecological Cancers Alliance (GYNCA), the time has come to record the song and offer the proceeds to GYNCA (their permission pending) so that women such as Debbie in our SW Missouri area can receive access to resources to help them in their battles with gynecological cancers.
Will you join me in funding the first step, which is to record the song and get it published and available for sale electronically? This first step means funds will be directed first to me and my family who will distribute all funds raised to those serving to record, publish, print, or market the song. Logs and receipts will be available to all donors throughout the process for transparency.
Later, a second step will come. Once the finished recorded audio product is completed and ready to market, those proceeds will go directly to GYNCA, pending their approval of this effort. This approval by their board is in process. If for any reason an alternate charitable organization would be to benefit, that information will be made public via this site and GoFundMe update posts.
Eventual sales proceeds would be distributed by GYNCA to assist women of the Ozarks with medical bills or life expenses resulting from their cancer struggles. $2500 is the initial goal and will go towards some heavily discounted recording and mastering costs (10%), packaging/marketing/advertising (50%), fees to promote the song via sites such as iTunes or Amazon (10%), and costs of a music website to further raise awareness for the song and its cause (30%). Any funds raised above goal will apply toward continuing web maintenance fees. There will not be any profit by the artist, except for possible print publication sales and potential future recordings, should they ever come to pass. This 2017 recording will only be for the purpose of raising funds for the stated goal.
