Send a Nurse To Africa!

Hi there! My name is Kirsten Murphy :) I am a Mercy Ships Alum returning for my third field service! Check them out at www.mercyships.org I have served 7 months in Madagascar, 4 months in Benin, and now (with your help) 7 months in Cameroon starting this August! I am a nurse, and my specialty on the ship is wound care for our patients who have been affected by burns and other deformities such as neurofibromas, polydactyly, syndactyly, and gigantism. All of the care and surgeries performed are free to our patients! I leave behind my little old house, friends, parents, a brother, three sisters, our puppy, and a very friendly neighborhood cat named Lionel. In addition to the cost of flights, I am required to pay monthly "crew fees" to the ship to cover all my basic living costs (showers, AC, wifi, three meals a day, and a bunk to sleep in). Mercy ships requires this so that all corporate donations go straight to the operation of the hospital (no small feat!). Despite all my efforts and saving, however, I do come up short. And I need your help! My goal is to raise $2000 for the personal expenses I just described.
