Officer David Reints's ICU Stay

Donation protected
My dad has been in law enforcement for 15+ years, recently he switched Police Departments so he lost his insurance while transitioning into his new position at the Albany Police Department (who we can't thank enough for giving him this opportunity). He has no insurance through Albany because he was not hired into the full-time position. In this time, he ran into some issues. On June 7th my mom found him laying on the bathroom floor after falling into the bathtub. He couldn't put a sentence together, couldn't walk and didn't know what was going on. Turns out his blood sugar hit 574 (reached a high of over 700 later that night). He was taken by ambulance and admitted into the ICU after multiple blood tests, scans and x-rays. He was diagnosed with Diabetic Ketoacidosis and is now on medication to take 3 times a day along with an insulin injection once a day, indefinitely. Due to not having insurance, affording his medication and ICU stay, will be near impossible. The insulin injections alone are over $400 per pen. It should not cost this much to keep yourself alive. He lives at home with his wife of 27 years, one (of four) of his children and 4 (out of six) of his grandkids, he is the main source of income for their household. We are asking for any kind donations to be put towards the expenses of the ambulance, test/x-rays and the ICU stay. Every penny counts! If you can't donate, even a share will help tremendously!Thank you,-The Reints Family
