Carole's Medical Fund

For those of you who know Carole, you know that she is truly one of the most selfless, kind, caring, and generous people out there. But what I think is most special about her is how brave she is. Her life has had a series of let downs and tragedies, most of which you would never know because of her strength and strong will to overcome everything thrown her way. She would never ask for help or let anyone feel pity for her. I feel it is my strong responsibility to offer help to her whenever I can and seeing how things are currently going it is time that I step up and do just that. Back in 2009 my mother was diagnosed with stage 2 Multiple Myeloma. This is not only a cancer in her blood but also a terrible disease that will never go away. She will without a doubt have this disease the rest of her life. She struggled through a stem cell transplant in 2010 which caused her to be admitted into yale new haven hospital for 3 months straight and since then she has received radiation and even chemo (every week) up until 3 months ago. We were elated to find that she was in remission from the cancer. But with that said the disease itself still lurked inside and just recently she recieved news that her bloodwork showed some abnormalities once again. She will receive another bone biopsy in the next week to show what exactly this means. Either way, hard times are hard times, and with her being unable to work due to her illness the bills are piling up. Mortgages, insurances, every day neccessities all cost enough as is and then to add almost 10 years of medical and hospital bills to that is in my opinion unrealistic.
My mothers doctor once told me "your mother has the best outlook and positive attitude of anyone ive met and she will stay strong and fight this." Well when you add all the stresses of bills on top of constantly being sick half of each week for as long as she has, it will eventually start to wear on the positivity.
All i ask is the slightest bit of help to ease the burden for her and my stepfather so they can try and still find some enjoyment in their lives instead of constant worries.
Thank you so much for even just simply taking the time to read this. My mother is the most amazing mother out there and an even better grandmother regardless of everything she deals with and she deserves nothing but the best!
