Amanda's Kicking Amnesia Fund

Hey! Thank you for visiting my campaign. My name is Daniel. My girlfriend of five years, Amanda, is a 27 year-old art teacher, restaurant manager trainee, and mother of our little girl. She was diagnosed with non-epileptic seizures in 2013. She usually experiences an aura before a seizure occurs and can sit or lay down to avoid serious injury. These usually require a day or two of rest before going back to work, which is doable with our budget.

Unfortunately, things don't always happen as expected. Last month, she had a seizure at work and hit her head as she fell to the floor. The concussion coupled with the seizure caused Transient Global Amnesia. It is temporary, but Amanda is still missing memories from the past few years. Helping her recover has been a surreal and emotional experience. We are in the process of moving into our first house, so the timing is terrible, but we are determined to make things work.

I want to raise enough money to cover the portion of our mortgage payment we weren't able to earn during her recovery, plus expenses incurred in the process of discovering the cause of the seizures. We are hoping the neurologist will find the cause to be a treatable one. All donations will be used to pay bills and lost wages due to us both needing to take off work. As soon as we learn more, I will update you all. Ideally, we need to collect around $300 by June 1st so that the house payment can be made on time.
