Adero Studies Architecture at UMD

Donation protected
Adero (15) dreams of combining her love of design and math.  What better choice than ARCHITECTURE!  She has been accepted into the University of Maryland's School of Architecture ARCH150 program.  Students will participate in designing buildings, bridges or parks.   Students will get the chance to meet successful architects, go on guided tours of architectural landmarks, and learn basic design principles to complete their own design project.  Adero will work on her learning design projects in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation’s design studio environment and interact with graduate students in architecture while getting a taste of what it's like to be an architecture student.

She will be instructed by Professor Michael A. Ambrose an AIA architect and educator. Professor Ambrose has studied in the US and abroad and earned a BArch at Temple and a MArch from Syracuse. He is the Assistant Director of the Architecture Program at the University of Maryland and teaches design studio courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and seminars in digital design media.

This Terp Young Scholars program takes place from July 10-July 29, 2016 as a 3-week residential summer program.  We need your help to raise the funds that she'll need to attend. The basic registration fee is $3,495 which includes room and board, the instructional program, books and activities. Then there is $110 for architectural supplies. Whether you can contribute $5 or $50 every little bit will help us to get Adero to UMD for this special summer program. We thank you so much for your support of Adero and her education.
