Support Roberta Miller And Family

Meredith and I are starting this campaign to help our dear friends Roberta and Reggie Miller. Roberta was diagnosed with stage four cancer in August 2009, nearly 8 years ago. She was given two years to live and defied the odds. Roberta is still fighting, one tough cookie, and she is not going to let the big C take her away from her husband and her children, nor will she be deprived of watching her children grow into young adults. To help you understand this campaign we would like to recap what the family has gone through in the last eight years. Since her diagnosis, Roberta has undergone 6 surgeries, each with their own very lengthy stays in the hospital in Denver. She was life-flighted once back to Denver after complications following one of those surgeries. They also have to travel to Denver every three months and stay anywhere from four days to two weeks for continued testing and re-evaluation. Roberta has also been on chemo for the last eight years. Needless to say medical insurance doesn't begin to cover the cost incurred when fighting cancer. Not only do they have their yearly deductibles to meet, there are so many new medicines and treatments that are not covered by insurance that the medical bills they incur are astronomical. Right now they are paying out of pocket nearly $1500 a month for the chemo that she is taking.Roberta had to resign from her teaching position two years after she was diagnosed. It is tough going to make ends meet each month with all these medical expenses, not to mention they are raising two children, one is in high school and one is in college. They have made it their mission not to let this disease interfere with the desires and goals of their children. We all know how expensive it is just to run a household, especially with teenagers, on a single income. We had to talk up a "BlueStreak", more than one time, to get Roberta and Reggie to agree to letting us start this Go Fund Me page. We were only successful when we stressed to them how much everybody loves them, wants to help them, and also wants to be ministers for Christ. "When I was thirsty, you gave me to drink!
