Support Tyler's Fight To Survive

A message from Tyler's mother, Kelli, providing more detail about his story and this fund-
"Tyler was at work when the accident happened, and all that I know is a tree somehow fell and hit Tyler in the back of the head, causing the first admission to Neuro Trauma ICU at Roanoke Memorial. From this admission, they had to close a laceration and there was swelling and bleeding on the brain at that time. From the ICU, we went to PCU and from there, we went to a med surg room where we stayed until we were transported to rehab. At that time, he was walking, talking and doing very well untill the night of 2/28. On 2/28, we were readmitted to RMH and the Neuro Trauma ICU where he underwent surgery and several other things. I have been with him without cease and have not left his side since this ordeal started. The funds from the go fund me page are to help with any medical expenses and living expenses for the family while he is in the hospital."

This campaign is in support of Tyler Hill and his mother Kelli Hill. Tyler is just 19 years old and a graduate of Floyd County High School. His mother, Kelli, is an LPN who works at Northern Urology, an office of Northern Hospital of Surry County, and is a resident of Max Meadows. He is also the son of Paul Hill and has a little sister, Taylor Hill, a student at Floyd County High School.

On Monday, February 13, Kelli received a phone call at work that would be any mother's worst nightmare. Tyler was at work when a tree somehow fell, striking him in the head. He was rushed to Roanoke and admitted into the ICU with a head laceration, brain swelling and bleeding. Tyler has had 3 surgeries to relieve pressure on the brain and has had 2 shunts placed. He was responding to medical treatment and moved to rehab, but subsequently suffered a stroke and developed pneumonia with a high fever. He was then sent back to the ICU and is still there. His most recent surgery was yesterday morning, March 2, to relieve more pressure on the other side of his brain.

Kelli has been by Tyler's side since his accident, as any mother would be. She has been unable to work for almost three weeks and will continue to be out for the unforeseeable future. As we all know, bills and expenses do not simply stop in the wake of tragedy. Kelli's friends and coworkers are starting this campaign and working on setting up a benefit lunch to try and raise the much needed funds for his mounting medical expenses and her expenses throughout this crisis. All donations will go directly to Kelli and Tyler. If you feel led to do so, a gift of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please share with your friends, and above all, please pray for this family that God will touch and heal this young man. He is a fighter and we are all holding on to faith that God will see them through.
