Holiday Gifting/Toiletries Packs

I run Zen Rabbit Rescue...while we are primarily a rabbit/small animal rescue and sanctuary, we also care about the people in our community and every year for as long as I can remember we have worked to give gifts to children and families who would otherwise not have anything for the holidays...I actually started doing this before we got our non profit status. Now I have expanded the program-last year we gave to 11 families (26 people were helped). Our gifting program takes in cash and gift cards and goes out on black Friday with coupons and shops all the deals to maximize our money, we then match what we have with the families needing help on www.2hands.org. This year we also wish to help our local homeless by putting together toiletry/survival packs. We actually welcome volunteers to help pass these out too-contact us for details...Angels are always needed. The photo I used was just to give you an idea what I plan to do for folks-not what I have done-you can see last years gifting program photos on our website. 

Please note-we serve folks in East Portland. We would love donations of those travel size toiletries from hotels-if you have an abundance you are not using, we sure could. I am thinking part survivalist (emergency thermal blankets, rations, etc,) part everyday neccesities chap stick, handi-wipes, toothpaste/brush, comb,shaving needs, deoderant, Socks!!! Socks!! Socks! Underclothes-so important. 

We are still running the day to day of the rescue but over the holidays we do focus outward to our community...We really don't have the ability to fund this ourselves, only the desire to make it so. Even a little bit can help us get to the dollar store and get a few needed items.
