Help Send Mo'Peeps (CAMS) To Worlds

We are Team Mo'Peeps from Carman Ainsworth Middle School, Flint, MI. We are the Middle School State Champions in VEX Robotics. We are two first year teams, Mo'Peeps and Even Mo'Peeps, currently ranked 9th in the world amongst 8,184 high school and middle school teams.

We are asking for your support to help us get to the World Competition that we qualified for, which is April 19th, 2017. Our deadline for collecting the funds is April 7th, 2017.

We started the year in September, brand new to the VEX Robotics Competitions. We have since worked tirelessly at building and rebuilding our robots, programming, planning, strategizing, team building, troubleshooting, problem solving and learning this fun, exciting program. We have built and rebuilt 2 incredible robots that have helped us reach this high achievement.

We are very excited to be going to Worlds. It's a once in a lifetime chance and we want to make the most of it and hopefully come out on top, or at least just have a really good time trying. This is something that we worked very hard to accomplish. We have competed against both high school and middle school teams. In doing so, we have earned 2 State Championships, State Skills Champions, and 9x Tournament Champions. We have earned awards in Excellence, Design, Robot skills, and Think.

VEX  Robotics is an excellent STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) program that also incorporates physical activity. This program is an after school program that offers young students like us to explore technology in a fun, positive, and safe environment. Every year is a different type of "game". As you can imagine, building robots is not cheap or easy, but someone has go to do it! And we love it!

We are going to be utilizing the funds that we collect from you kind-hearted, encouraging folks for mostly materials for the robots...but we also will be using the money for travel, boarding, food, and maybe a little fun if we have time. This is a 5 day event. Just to give you an idea of some costs. The motors used for the robots each cost $15 and we need 40 of them. Thats $600. The cortex (computers) of the robots are $250 each and we need 4 of them. Thats a $1000. These are just some of the bigger items we need but its the little things that add up like nuts and bolts. Trust us when we say that anything and everything can and may go wrong with the robots and we need to be prepared to fix our robots in the spur of the moment during the competition.

We would like to extend our biggest thanks to you for taking the time to help us achieve our $5000 goal by April 7th. We hope you will follow us on facebook on our page Mo'Peeps. We will be posting videos and photos of our journey along the way.

We would each like to sincerely thank you,
Max, Kya, Caleb, Jack, Micah, Adrien, Lydia, Alex, Hunter, Austin, Ainsley, Parker and Sonny.
