Medical Fund For Christian Caba

Donation protected
Christian Caba was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy (MD) at the tender age of one years old. Through out all of his trials he was still able to graduate highschool. He aspired to go to school to be a culinary chef, life hasn't been easy for Christian. In 2013 he developed uncontrollable heart rythm "SVT" in which time he required one implanted difibulator. Sadly Christians heart could no longer pump the way it needs to for his daily needs. In life Christian has remained strong with the support and love of his mom, family members, as well as the members of the community. In December 2014 Christian left Puerto Rico and came to Pennsylvania for one of his many routine visits at Alfred I. duPont Hospital but unfortunately at that time he was unaware that he would not be returning to the place he loves to call home. On December 23, 2014 Christian turned 17 years old and suffered from a stroke that very day. Just a few short weeks later Christian also suffered from a mild heart attack which lead him to be hospitalized for the remainder of that year. They also had to implant the "LVAD" Left vintricular assistant device which had helped his heart pump the blood from left to right of the heart. While still living at the Ronald Mcdonald house in Delaware on the hospital premises Christian had a follow-up appointment with the cardiac team. In that appointment Christians LVAD alarm went off it found another blood clot. The doctors had to perform another open heart surgery and implant yet another LVAD. He was there for a few months and was able to leave the hospital in November 2015. It was very difficult because of how long he was in the hosptal he devoloped bad anxiety and started having panic attacks. During this particular time his mom had become the sole caregiver with support of the family. Having good and bad days he was able to get adjusted to the new life. However in December 2016 Christian began retaining fluid that required multiple ER visits. He needed to return to the hospital for heart valve replacement. At this time the LVAD team informed Christian he was no longer a candidate for heart transplant, and no more treatment was available to him and HOSPICE was recommended. Christian and Jenny will need all the help they can get to pay day o day and future epenses. It's been a struggle and the struggle is only going to get harder. That are, and will become excessively challenging to meet. Along with prayers we are graciously asking for donations to cover current and future expenses which will help them in ways word cannot express.
