Help Me Get to Vegas for Beauty, Baby!
So as you know I returned back to school this year in pursuit of my cosmetology license - "hair school" for short. I worked 2 jobs and laughed, cried, and highly caffeinated myself through it. It was an incredible journey but I'm happy to have it behind me and excited to start my career and the next chapter of my life!
As a reward for my hard work I was recognized as one of the nation's "most promising cosmetology students." I was selected by the Beacon program and invited to attend the Professional Beauty Association's Beauty Week in Las Vegas next month. It's a grand annual happening - the nation's "largest beauty event, offering unlimited networking, education and professional growth opportunities to all sectors of the beauty industry," blah blah blah... it's kind of a big deal. I'll be attending specialized classes with bigwigs in the industry, rubbing elbows at parties and working to gain a firm understanding of the business of beauty.
It's an incredible opportunity but the catch is I have to pay my way there, womp, womp. So as I was struggling to figure out how to afford it I thought maybe you could help. If you're reading this I'm under the impression that you like me, believe in me, want me to do good in life. And maybe, just maybe, you're willing to donate to my good cause as a show of your support. So if you got a couple Washingtons lying around (also accepting Lincolns, Hamiltons, Jacksons, "Benjamins" etc.) consider throwing them my way in the name of advanced education. It would make my day and I'd be thankful forever, not to mention it would mean at least one free haircut ;)
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
