“WI DRIVE’s” van maintenance




I recently donated a kidney and could not drive for two weeks. Once again I was reminded how difficult it is to rely on busy friends and family to get around. 
A few years back I drove for a company that specialized in transporting those that needed assistance. They offered door to door service for the elderly, disabled, special needs and the temporarily injured. 
I loved that job because every person that I drove was grateful for the service. Having a low price, capable vehicles and the extra care given by CPR certified drivers was important to them.
My goal is to bring this door to door service to Whidbey Island with a wheelchair van that is capable to go wherever needed. 
Yes we have a taxi service and yes we have “Island Transit’s Paratransit service” but I have noticed there are limits to those services.
My goal is to fill the gap and offer what they cannot.
My first step is to acquire a wheelchair van like the one pictured. I have been doing research and have proven that there is a huge need. 
I will offer low cost transport to the elderly, disabled and those with special needs. With focus on door to door service for everyone who needs that extra help to get to their destination. 
Everything from Dr’s appointments, PT, shopping, Dialysis, Chemo, ER visits, hair appointments, Vet Visits, trips to the Base, entertainment etc.
With years of experience, a current CPR and First Aid certification, ex EMT/Firefighter and previous CNA certification. You and your loved ones will be in good hands. 
I have come up with the name “WI Drive” and am currently working on a logo (see mock up in photo above)
I am working with “Whidbey Entrepreneurs” and am putting together a business plan.  In the future I hope to acquire other vehicles and hire drivers with experience in transporting those in need of assistance. 

So please help me help our community by donating, sharing and talking about my idea to help those in need.
