Hope For Nadia

Hello everyone,

As you may or may not have heard my mom, Nadia has recently been struggling with some serious health challenges. Anyone who knows my mom, knows she is not only fiercely independent and highly health conscious, she is also a particularly private person. This is a woman with a tremendous and selfless heart. I can only begin to explain how many occasions I have had the pleasure of watching in awe where she has put others first, supporting them in a million ways including myself ofcourse. She is a daughter, a mother, a sister, a cousin, a friend that truly would do anything for anyone.

Can you recall a time when you’ve met someone and in meeting this individual they radiated such love it had you feeling more connected to something bigger than us? A feeling like that is hard to describe, but after some time with them -you realize that it’s not about the explanation it’s about the impact. My mom is one of those people in others lives, everyone who encounters her feels this intense ripple effect of love.

My mom would never ask for anything.

Yet I will.

I want to for her.

There comes a time in many of our lives when we need the help of our community. And this is that time.

Early last year my mom received news that she had stage 1 ovarian cancer. She underwent surgery to remove the cancer and doctors explained there was no need for further therapy.  On December 7th 2016, after a CT scan completed because she was feeling sharp pains in her right side, they discovered the cancer was back. The doctors explained it as stage 4 ovarian cancer, as the cancer has metastisized to now the liver and diapraghm.  My mom, underwent surgery to remove what ended up being six tumors. Doctors are unsure if they removed everything during the surgery and are suggesting further therapy including chemotherapy and radiation.  The doctors also explained the cancer is reoccuring and will not go away regardless of chemo and radiation. After an extensive amount of research she has decided to take a different course of alternative therapies in order to treat her cancer. Your help getting her to where she needs to be is appreciated more than words can describe, not just for me but for everyone who loves her.

I would like to extend my many thanks to the family and friends that have reached out to support my mom and I during this time. Jen C, Jen, my Aunt Joanne, Nella your love shines so very bright and your help and support means so very much to us.

Many thanks and God bless.
