We're making you all an awesome website and we'd like you all to get involved!
We want to be able to have an awesome website that you amazingly talented crafty folk can use to not only display your products FREE of charge but to also have access to lots of information!
We want to supply you with a website which:
Gives you access to a list of gift shops and retailers who are looking to stock your items
Gives you access to a list of local craft fairs, shows and crafting events
Gives you access to a list of reputable suppliers like web designers, printers, accountants, insurance products etc. who have experience in working with small and handmade businesses
Allows you to showcase your products
Gives you access to lots of information and tips on how to build your brand and get the most out of your social media strategy (some areas will only be accessible to paid membership only)
Features pages to showcase the best talents out there
Actively promotes your products via the website and through social media networking like the #HandmadeHour networking session run by @HandmadeHour that just keeps on trending in the UK!
- Recent stats show that we reached over 2.5 million individual Twitter accounts during our #HandmadeHour session with a total of over 23 million #HandmadeHour impressions altogether!
- Equally, our #HandmadeHourUSA sessions reach over 800,000 individual Twitter accounts with a total of over 10 million individual #HandmadeHourUSA impressions!
We can really get your products out there!
Allows you access to live webinars/Q&A's with industry leaders to assist you in the running of your business (where available, free to paid members)
Allows you access to lots of advice and tips brought to you by specialists and covering areas like tax, social media, time management, insurance etc
Gives you access to great deals which we've negotiated with businesses especially for you! These will not all be business orientated. (Available to paid members only, see below for deals already agreed)

We really do want to support all your amazing handmade, craft and arty businesses and we truly believe that we can make this happen. However, it will cost money to get this project off the ground. The price above will pay for the initial outlay of the website and associated plug-ins and the 5% fee that we have to pay to gofundme.com. We don't want the new website to look cheap, we want it to be awesome! We've got some fantastically talented web developers and designers on-board who are going to make us an amazingly gorgeous and easy to use website for you all to use. But because it's so amazingly gorgeous then it's going to cost a pretty penny! We really appreciate your support and every donation that you make will get us closer to our goal!

By donating £25 to this project you will be purchasing an annual membership (reduced introductory offer, normal price £45), you will have access to all the features of the site including webinars and the eligibility to apply for a grant of up to £100 to help your business, for a whole year and be able to showcase up to 100 products (each displaying up to 5 photos) on the website!
By donating £99 to this project you will be purchasing a lifetime membership (one-time offer), we guarantee that you will never have to pay to use the services mentioned above again. You will also be able to showcase up to 100 products (each with up to 5 photos) on the website.

There will also be a FREE membership option available once the website goes live which will only give you access to some of the features above. The free membership option will give you access to all the standard advice/information areas, access to the searchable database of suppliers and allow you to showcase up to 3 products. Access to live webinars/Q&A sessions will be available by an extra fee. We're also negotiating deals with businesses especially for you and these will only be available to paid members.
We will never charge commission on any sales that you receive through the website!

All founder members will receive their login details over the weekend of 12-14th June with loads of really exciting features being released over the coming weeks with feedback and input from each one of you!
We have now got a fully functioning sign up system working over on handmade-nation.com therefore we will be closing the GoFundMe sign-up system and directing people over to the website for further information.
We've got so many fantastic things planned and we can only thank you for your time, faith and patience in Handmade Nation.
Let's get the excitement going!
This is the first stage of the BETA testing so to start with we're just after your thoughts on how it looks, the layout etc. There will be more features released really soon so keep your eyes peeled and check back regularly! You can also continue to purchase your memberships at a reduced rate if you haven't already.
You should all have now had an email from us which we've sent to the email address that you used when you made the donation.
In our previous update we mentioned that there would not be any transactions during the BETA phase; however we can now confirm that you will be able to make transactions during this phase so your shop will be live!
We'll be sending you quite a bit of information over the next few days and in the run up to BETA launch so please do keep checking back!

Becky and I wanted to share some very exciting news with you, as one of our founder members. We are delighted to let you know that the BETA testing phase of the website will start on 14th February 2015. Thank you so much for all your support and patience over the last 10 months, we hope you’ll agree, when you see the site, that it’s all been worth it!
The BETA phase of the website testing will start at 09:30 (GMT) on 14th February 2015, so make a note in your diary! We’ll then see a period of testing whereby you will be able to use the site, populate your shop and see it functioning; however there will be no transactions initially during the BETA stage. The website is planned to go live on 7th March, however obviously this is pending feedback and functioning during the BETA testing. We’d love to hear from you during this BETA testing stage as we’d like to use this phase to make any improvements that YOU want to see. So far it has only had input from me, Becky and the developers, and your ideas as our end users will be invaluable to making this the biggest craft-selling website in the business.
Needless to say we’ll be sending you a lot more information over the next few days and in the lead-up to BETA launching, but, as always, please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or feedback at any time.
