Steve Pharris fighting Brain Cancer

Donation protected

Steve Pharris has been fighting Brain Cancer for the third time– Needs your help!

I’ve known Kelly and Steve for twenty-one years. They were the first couple that welcomed my husband and I to Wisconsin.

They are the most selfless couple that I’ve ever known. Related or not they treat everyone like family.

Steve Pharris was diagnosed with brain cancer back in 2003, with an Oligodendroglioma Grade II, due to the onset of seizures. He had surgery to remove 40% of the tumor and seven weeks of radiation.

Then in 2014, Steve had his first reoccurrence of brain cancer, the tumor came back more aggressive as a WHO Grade III oligodendroglioma. Redo craniotomy was performed and he had to complete 12 cycles of Chemotherapy with Temodar for one year.

On November 29, 2016, a 2nd reoccurrence of brain cancer, came back even more aggressive with multiple tumors and progression of the angiogenic glioma oligodendroglioma III and a GBM, glioblastoma tumor. The GBM tumors has caused neurological damage and has affected his eye sight. He was diagnosed with homonymous hemianopia which has left him half blind.

On November 18, 2016, he had to stop working and go on short term disability from his job.

On December 6, 2016, he started treatments of two chemotherapies, Avastin and Temodar.

On January 16, 2017, he was admitted into the hospital and another MRI was performed. The
findings showed the chemotherapies had not stopped the progression of the tumors and he was told to stop treatments.

The doctors have recommended he move into hospice and feel he has
two months to live. Currently, he is bed ridden due to weakness on his left side.

Steve and his wife Kelly Pharris have been married for 24 years in December 2016. Steve is a
tool and die maker at Briggs and Stratton Corporation for 24 years and is still waiting on his short-term disability pay to be distributed. Kelly Pharris has had to go on FMLA unpaid leave to be his sole caregiver and provide home hospice care.

Currently, they are both not working and without incomes now.
