Orphanage building fund in Haiti
Hello! We are a mission team from True Vine Church Community in Philadelphia, PA going to Gressier, Haiti in July 2017. We will be performimg a sustainability project by adding rooms onto an exsisting orphange operated by Vital Foundation Inc. You can learn more about the foundation by visiting there website.
This campaign will raise funds to buy building materials and offset travel expenses for us to work on completing the additions to the building. These additions will be used as a cafeteria and a future living space for boys. Only seventeen girls live there now, and they are pictured below. As of now, the girls only have one room where they eat and sleep.
We will need these funds by May 1st to ensure the materials are on the site when we arrive.
We are asking that you give by buying cement blocks at $5 each. You can buy as many blocks as you can afford. The walls have been started but need to be completed, as well as the roof and floor. The cost will also help offset travel expenses for the team.
We will also build or buy picnic tables for the girls to eat their meals. As of now they eat on the floor of the room where they sleep. 
A message from our team leader Mike Sharkey
I started going to Haiti in April 2014. I went with a group to build houses in Bon Repos, Haiti. God blessed that project with many workers and funds. They built a village of 36 houses and a church all on volunteers and funding. The project was completed in 2.5 years. I remember that on my first trip my friend Orlando saying to me in the Miami airport that we were not going there to build houses. I laughed and said that I signed up to build houses. I found out what he meant by that after the first trip. I was there to build into the lives of the Haitian people. To build lasting relationships and sharing the love of Jesus. Since that first trip I have been back four times, not to fulfill any need that I may have but to give more of Jesus to others.
In July, you and the True Vine Church Community will play a big part in building into the lives of the Haitian people by giving these precious little ones a place to enjoy their meals and a place for boys to lay their heads at night. This is a place where the Love of God resides.
