Pattie's cataract surgery fund

My wife, Pattie, has been my faithful and steadfast wife for 39 years. She is also one of the leading video artists in the nation having created many memorable and visually exciting works that have inspired thousands to create their own visions. University educators use examples of her works in classes while teaching modern media culture. She has been the subject of articles in many books and magazines. Her passion for creating videos extends to mentoring talented young people wishing to commit their attention to her careful and reasoned tutelage. She is erudite, funny, smart and gentle.

She also has cataracts that effect both of her eyes and are quickly threatening to completely end her ability to make any future videos or to simply drive a car.  Left untreated, cataracts can continue to advance and leave the person completely blind

Cataracts are the clouding of the lenses of the eyes that prevent the person from seeing the world in any way but through a blurry haze.  We have been to our optometrist and she determined that my wife is a prime candidate for this short and simple procedure. The only problem that we have in scheduling the procedure is that we simply do not have the money  I work a full time job, but we are a one-income family and surgery is out of our financial reach.

I have decided to present this request to GoFundMe on behalf of her and would not do this unless there were no other options to restore her vision before the continuing clouding becomes a permanent condition.
