"Guardians of Gaia" was originally developed as a live theatrical show that takes it's audience on a journey of looking at our natural world through the eyes of mythological goddesses from indigenous cultures that represent different aspects/elements/resources of Mother Earth/Gaia. As the show progresses, we are faced with our current world's disconnections from our natural world which has resulted in unsustainable and unhealthy lifestyles. "Guardians of Gaia" touches at the root/heart of our environmental and health issues today and in turn ignites the desire for transformation.
This project has recently begun to morph into ideas around a digital media/web-based component we are calling "Guardians of Gaia Quest" that appeals to middle school aged youth in an effort to expedite the impact of the message and create a powerful call to action. The Guardians of Gaia Quest challenges it's participants to take steps to earn the official title of "Guardian of Gaia" and share their journey with the internet audience via videos and pictures.
At this time we are also consulting with experts and preparing to file for non-profit status so that we can more easily seek individual and foundation funding in particular. In the meantime, we need raise the funds to pay for the fees involved in filing as a non-profit and in general to continue the process of development in the meantime.
