HUDDLE UP FOR LIFE
I would like to welcome everyone to this page. This page is here to do two different things. One is to promote our first benefit which will be held October 26th in Vinton,LA.
After this event is held, it is our hope that this can become a foundation to help other families cope with the needs of a loved one who has a terminal illness.
This will be a very long process, and we are just now learning to crawl in this process. There will be up's and down's, and much learning to do. Our hope is that you will follow us, help us grow, and inspire others with the knowledge that they are not alone.
The reason this page has come to be is because of one incredible woman who has inspired everyone who's life she has touched to be the best they can be while still enjoying life. Peggy Prescott has raised three young men, Thaddeus (Tad), Jace and Dakota (Dak), who continue to show to others the love and inspiration their mom has shown to them. Ms Peggy has cancer, but by listening to her, you would never know. When she isn't talking about her boys, she talks about the positive things in life. She doesn't dwell on the negative, and with this attitude she has inspired countless number of people.
With Huddle Up 4 Cancer, we hope to continue to inspire others as she has inspired us.
With each donation of $25, we will gladly send you a Huddle Up For Cancer t-shirt. If you wish to donate less or prefer to not receive the t-shirt, we will respect your wish.
As soon as I'm able, I'm going to be editing this page and the name will be changing to Huddle Up for Life and changing the Overall Goal. Everything is legally in place now for the foundation and we are excited, thrilled and humbled to be able to move forward!
I hope you and yours have a most blessed and happy and loving Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Myself, I am looking forward to trying to get to whatever bowl game MSU lands in! To say I'm excited would be an understatement!!!
Please keep our family in your prayers, most especially Dak's health in regards to his left arm!!
Love & Blessings,
I want to apologize to everyone who hasn't received their t-shirt(s) yet. Hopefully you will bear with us just a bit longer and things will settle down this week so that I can take this chore from Phillip and get these ordered and sent out within the next 2 weeks. I'm so sorry this has taken so long, but I'm thinking you understand how hectic and topsy-turvy our lives have been for the last 2 weeks! Thank you all again for the blessings you have poured out on our family here....we continue to be amazed and humbled!
i just want to thank everyone for your overwhelming love, support, and prayers for my family at this extremely difficult time. As you probably know, Peggy passed away this past Sunday.
I've mistyped....Phillip is MY cousin and Peggy's brother. My fingers were going faster than my brain!
Peggy is one of my younger cousins (and also named after my Mom, Jean -- hence Peggy (Margaret) Jean Ebarb Prescott). She has been battling colon cancer with metastases for a while now and has recently been placed on hospice. This site is to raise money to help with her expenses. Her boys are her world and she is making a valiant effort to get to each of Dak's (who plays for Mississippi State) games. She also has made many, many trips to and from Shreveport for her treatments. Of course she is unable to work and lives with my Aunt and Uncle, Margaret and Glyn Ebarb. What irony that Peggy would move back to Vinton to take care of her aging parents only to have them taking care of her with her cancer. My cousin, Phillip, Peggy's cousin, has organized a benefit in Vinton on October 26. We were trying to find a way for folks to make donations and to "purchase" t-shirts. This is our solution. All funds will go to Peggy, and to that end, a Capital One account has been set up in the name of Margaret J Prescott. For a $25 donation, we will send you a t-shirt, or if you're in the area, it can be picked up on the day of the benefit. All other donations are gratefully appreciated. Peggy has put up one heck of a fight against this ravaging disease. Please help if you can. God bless each of you!
