ALS | Treeline's Chad Kendrick
$75,325 of $50k goal
BELOVED Treeline Outdoor's founder and my dear friend, Chad Kendrick has recently been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known Lou Gehrig's disease. ALS is a devastating disease of the nervous system. More specifically, ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease, which means that it causes nerve cells to die and the condition gets worse and worse over time.
Chad has already lost most of the use of his arms and hands and can feel the disease spreading quickly to his legs and lungs. He needs our IMMEDIATE help!
What we need to raise money for is to get Chad to California to see Dr. Steenblock for stem cell therapy in hopes that this can help slow, stop or even reverse the effects of ALS.
More about the Disease:
Patients with ALS have a life expectancy of two to five years. To date there is no medical cure for ALS but there are clinics that are seeing very positive results using stem cell therapy coupled with naturopathic and homeopathic methods.
There are multiple progressive neurodegenerative diseases, but ALS is arguably the most devastating. Why? It causes nerve cells that control all muscles in the body to die and leaves patients completely paralyzed to the point where they cannot even breathe without a machine, eat, speak, or blink their eyes.
Chad simply put, is a stout hearted steward of all things and everyone. A protector of family and guardian of friends. He's a loyal champion to the earth and a humble keeper of his name. This gentle, larger than life human is a new father of gorgeous son, River with his beautiful sweetheart wife Erin.
Over the years I've had the honor of seeing many things with this dude. Whether it was mind numbing beauty or heart wrenching tragedy he stood strong and full of humility. I've watched this guy run into harm's way to help a stranger in peril. I've stood next to him as we watched a man take his last breath. Chad is unbreakable and he's been like a brother to me and I am a better person by knowing him.
With a contagious laugh and giant heart, Chad becomes near and dear to everyone he meets almost immediately. Now please, with your help and this treatment we can help slow, stop or even reverse the effects of this horrible disease! Most importantly keep a much needed human on this planet. For his beautiful wife and son, for his loving family, and for all us friends that love getting these quick moments of joy breaking up a noisy life...
Stay positive and strong buddy. We got a world to conquer. BIG LOVE!

All proceeds will go towards his fight with ALS. The outreach by this amazing community, friends, and family has been incredible. Thank you! Keep sharing and let’s get this guy to California!
First, thank you for the continued support! Second, I wanted to send a quick personal update about some logistics required by GoFundMe.
As Chad and I have been going through the process of getting him these funds to begin treatment, we have discovered that GFM policy is: If a campaign is created in the US, you have to collect the funds in the US. Therefore, GFM requires that I update you all about this transfer of funds in this specific way.
Chad has entrusted me, close friend, to withdraw these funds on his behalf and then wire directly to him.
We are learning as we go, but time is of the essence as these donations will allow Chad to begin treatment. Again, I am so grateful and blown away by all the love and support that has been shown these last few days. These funds will help he and his family during this initial stage, but as we all know, medical treatment is not cheap. Therefore, PLEASE keep sharing, hugging, loving this family during this time.
Thank you so much! I'll keep you updated along the way.
THANK YOU, THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU BEAUTIFUL SOULS! I am so overwhelmed by all of the love and support you have shown my family and I, my heart is exploding. I can honestly say this has been a new and profound experience in my life and I am immediately a better and more humbled human because of it. Let me be clear, I am not referring to my diagnosis, I am referring to the love you have all shown. I believe I have never been so happy in my life, and that says something given the circumstances. I feel my condition has improved already, because of you. I have shed a tear (probably many) for every message sent, every donation given, every FB share, every well wish, every emoji, every phone call, every Instagram post, every helping hand, every shoulder to cry on, everything you have brought our way during this time great or small has meant more to us then you could ever know. As I currently sit on the sidelines trying to take this all in just know that I have diligently read everything anyone has said and sent, I will get back to you all at my earliest but in between that time please know how much you all mean to me and how thankful I am, you have given me the strength to live 10 fold. Regardless of how this goes, I can say without hesitation that I have lived a truly blessed life and I am a better person for knowing each and every one of you. And for the people I don't know who have shown their support, all the more reason to keep living, in hopes of meeting you one day and perhaps returning the favour.
"Chad, myself and The Kendrick's are blown away by the overwhelming amount of love and support we have received in the last 24hrs. From the bottom of our hearts thank you. Please continue to share our story and donate so we can get Chad to California for stem cell treatment ASAP in hope to slow down ALS's progression and maybe even reverse some of its damage. We are staying strong hoping and praying that one day Chad will be able hold his son and maybe even cast a line again. Love one another and appreciate the everyday."
There is no end date for this campaign and it would be incredible to push past our goal to help this amazing family down a turbulent road. We love you Erin, River, and Chad!
Would appreciate further updates. Thank you.
