Betty Scott Medical Expenses

Donation protected
Our family has created this page to share with you the recent journey of our parents, Noel and Betty Scott. They have dedicated their lives to serving God in many capacities, including Christian education, pastoral ministry, and evangelistic work. No matter their role in God’s work, they have made an impact on countless lives and have been great encouragers to many. They remain faithful prayer warriors, caring for others, despite their own needs and difficulties. We are blessed to call them our parents.
The Bible says in Philippians 4:6-7 to “be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” We are asking that the family of God lift our parents up in prayer – prayer is so powerful, and we know God continues to be near. We ask that you pray for physical healing for Betty and for physical strength for Noel as he continues to care for her. We ask that God be with all of the health care providers – for wisdom and discernment as they care for her complicated case. These last several months have played an emotional toll on Noel, Betty and the entire family as well. There is nothing more difficult than watching a loved one suffer and feel so powerless to do anything to help.
Noel and Betty left their full time pastoral duties at the Lowry City, Missouri, Church of God Holiness this past summer. They felt God leading them again into evangelistic work and held several meetings during the summer and fall. As they were preparing to leave for a revival in Milton, West Virginia, in October, Betty had a fall. Once they arrived in West Virginia, the hip pain became intense and a fracture was found, necessitating a hip replacement on October 24th. After a short stay in the hospital there, they made their way across country, back home to Lowry City, where she continued rehabilitation at home. Her hip surgery recovery has been complicated by a chronic fluid retention issue, which the doctors are still trying to resolve. On December 7, Betty fell again in the home. This required a second more extensive femur surgery in Columbia, Missouri, and a two plus week hospital stay. Betty was dismissed from the hospital on December 19th and was looking forward to recovery at home and spending time with her loved ones over Christmas. On Christmas Eve, we rushed Betty back to the hospital. She had developed cellulitis, an infection, which continues to plague her, despite oral antibiotics.
January 7th, Noel and Betty made the trip to Columbia again for yet another hospital admission. Her physician plans to administer IV antibiotics and to run a number of tests to hopefully identify the root cause of her many symptoms and to gain control of the infection and fluid retention as well as other complications. We ask that you continue to lift up our family in your prayers. We know God is in control and hears our prayers. So many of you have reached out to us in a number of ways – your support and kind words are a great encouragement. As you might expect, this journey has also wreaked financial burdens on our parents as well. The cost of health care in general, with numerous hospital stays and prescription costs, can overwhelm a family. Many of you have sent our parents love offerings – they have been so appreciative again of your outpouring and God’s grace in time of trouble. And many have asked how they could send a financial gift to help and that is why we have created this fund. If God is leading you to help with this need, we are very thankful.
God bless you. Please continue to pray for a miracle. Check back here for updates.
