Help Lukas Give Back To His Homeland

My son, Lukas, was born in Ethiopia. At the age of ten, he was adopted and has embraced his new home in America. Lukas has adjusted well over the last 7 1/2 years, but has never forgotten his roots and longs to return to Ethiopia to reconnect with his birth family and the wonderful orphanage where he lived prior to adoption. For Lukas's high school graduation in 2017, we are planning a trip for him to visit Ethiopia for two weeks in March. He will be visiting his birth family and doing volunteer work at his former orphanage. It is very important to Lukas that he be able to give back to the country that loved and nurtured him for his first ten years. The poverty level in Ethiopia is extremely high and the needs are tremendous. While it may seem overwhelming as to how to give back, Lukas hopes to focus on meeting some of the needs of the children at his former orphanage. In order to help in his efforts, I am creating this fundraiser. All of the donations will be used to purchase needed items for the orphanage (the orphanage director is supplying us with a list of the most pressing needs) and to pay for airline luggage fees to be able to transport the items.Any financial help you can provide is so appreciated and we will make sure to keep you updated on how the funds are used.
