Daddy Has Terminal Cancer

His 8th grade classmates voted him best all around. And that still holds true! He has been the best all around Dad and Papa to us. He is only 60 years old. The day before Thanksgiving we got his PET scan results and it was our worst nightmare. It showed a large mass on his throat and masses on his lung and liver. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving he went in for his biopsy. I thought this would be a simple procedure. However, he had to be intubated and required a trach the next day. His biopsy on the throat revealed stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma. My worst fear. He spent several days in ICU at Piedmont Athens Regional. We were told surgery was not an option for the large mass in his throat. He also cannot receive chemo because his liver function is too low. He did receive 10 rounds of radiation. Before he left the hospital it was decided he would go home with hospice. It is by far the hardest thing we have had to endure. He is sleeping 16-18 hours per day. We are just trying to keep him comfortable at this point. He has 5 grandchildren. He is remarried and has a 13 year old daughter. His wife has not been able to go back to work because he requires round the clock care. Daddy also has no life insurance. He does have a plot that is paid for in Commerce, GA where his Mom is buried. The hospice nurse said his time is very limited here on earth. We just want to give him a proper burial. Any dollar amount would be greatly appreciated even if it is just $10.00. It will add up.
