Do you Sib Weatherford, he is the guy that always has time to talk to you , always wears a smile and he is a fighter. Sib was diagnosed with Diabetes shortly before his 3 rd birthday. Diabetes isnt just "sugar" ,it effects all body functions adversely, but Sib didn't let that slow him down. He started guiding rafts in 1986 on the rivers of WV. He taught skiiing at Winterplace and is still on ski patrol at Timberline Ski Resort. Sib's health has been comprimised by a complication of his diabetes. He has Lumbarsaral plexus radiculopathy. What does that mean? The message from Sib's brain to his legs no longer gets there. He cannot walk without falling, he has lost the muscle tone in his legs, he can no longer cook meals for friends and family, he can no longer enjoy the active lifestyle he had , he can no longer ski with his 2 beautiful daughters. Sib can no longer do things that most of us take for granted!
Sib is scheduled to see the leading physcian on his condition at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. They are hoping to stop the progress of this life changing disease. It took a year to get this appointment. He will be there over a week, insurance will only cover a small part of it.
PLEASE help Sib pay for this visit and acquire adaptive equipment that will bring that smile back to his face.......
