Jordan Rogers recovery fund

Donation protected
This fund is setup for Jordan Rogers and his recovery after losing his eye earlier this week.

I would like to tell you a little  about Jordan and the family that surrounds him.

Jordan is an 11 year old boy from Vinton, La. Jordan has never been just your average or typical boy. In fact I would say that everything about Jordan completely throws average out the window. Jordan is in the 6th grade and he has always been a big kid for his age, but his large stature only tells part of his story. I would say that if you asked Jordan what his best quality is he would say his faith and the big heart God gave him. Jordan is a strong young man who is very confident in his faith. He is a very loving and devoted child not only to God but also to his family and friends. In fact Jordan shares this love and kindness to every living thing he comes in contact with every day. You dont have to know Jordan long to see the size of the heart that Christ gave him to share with others and to know this child is to have a better understanding of Jesus when he said
"unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter into the kingdom of heaven."

Jordan is a perfect example of Gods love to us and how we should look to him for answers in all that we do. Jordan is a soft spoken, obedient kid and I have never heard him come close to disrespecting an adult regardless of  the circumstance. If you are around Jordan you know what I am talking about. If you have had a conversation with him as an adult then you have heard the level of respect he displays to whoever he is  around. Some may think that ma’am and sir are term's of yesterday’s youth but you will not hear Jordan address an adult without an appropriate and respectful title attached to every answer or question.

Jordan plays baseball, basketball and football when not on the field, he is a very supportive teammate and friend. As if this was not enough Jordan has another very unique quality. This kid's intelligence is through the roof. His comprehension and learning abilities are amazing. He is currently in the 6th grade but takes advanced classes and also travels to another school for Spark and more challenging curriculum.

If you get a chance to watch the video in the link you can hear and see for yourself all the qualities that  I have  mentioned above in one short clip. He speaks better then most adults, his gratitude is so sincere you can feel it and the fact that he is still going strong and thinking of others is a testament to his faith, strength and his big heart of gold.

Now that you know a little more about Jordan it’s time to help him out. Jordan recently experienced trauma to one of his eyes and as a result had to have it surgically removed. He is now home after several surgeries.

The recovery phase for Jordan  is just beginning. When I spoke to his parents about starting a fund,  Ashley and Jeremy  were already so appreciative and blown away by everyone’s prayers and help, they could not imagine asking for anything further. Their words were “we are already so blessed and  thankful to everyone and all the love they have showed towards Jordan and our family”

I understand that this is so true and I know the sincerity in their hearts. Jordan’s faith and Their faith is strong so when they say that God will provide a way and will provide for both them and Jordan, I wholeheartedly believe this to be 100% true. This is also the reason behind this fund.  When God laid it on my heart to ask them about setting up a fund for Jordan, he then left that door open enough so that I could pray and ask if this was something God wanted out of me. Today God answered my question. When I saw the photos of Jordan and heard that not 24 hrs after the surgery to remove his eye he asked if he could go join and support his teammates at there first basketball game. WOW!!!!

So I ask that you keep in mind the long road ahead for an 11 year old to adjust to this new way of seeing the world around him. I ask that if you have the opportunity let’s reward Jordan for the amazing person God made him to be. Please join me in making this fund one of God’s many blessings for Jordan and his family. Let’s do whatever we can to ensure that Jordan and his family will be able to financially accomplish whatever is needed to keep Jordan playing, learning, and smiling as he begins his journey on this long road to recovery. I understand not all can help financially so if that is the case please leave some encouraging words for Jordan and please remember him and his wonderful family as you talk to God each night.

Thank you all
