Austin's Battling Cancer
Austin is 17 years old. He has been diagnosed with cancer. But this is a new, rare, and fastest growing cancer called Burkitt's Lymphoma. There are only 300 cases reported in the United States per year. I am Grandma Patty. On Thursday, November 17th, I took Austin to the emergency room because he was having difficulty breathing and couldn't eat. They did a CAT scan and found fluid in his lungs and abdomen. The E.R. arranged for ambulance transport to Phoenix Children's Hospital. That night we were told the rest of the story. Austin had masses the size of grapefruits in his abdomen and one pressing against his heart. Bad enough right! No. These masses DOUBLE IN SIZE EVERY 18 HOURS!!! Austin's Mom and Dad are staying at the PCH Ronald McDonald House. I am reaching out on their behalf to help with their expenses while they are unable to work as they are needed 24/7 at Austin's side. I will share Austin's daily journey and pictures. So, please keep checking back and please, please share.
