Olivia's Fight

Donation protected
Hello,

Miss Olivia is a beautiful bright little girl who has been diagnosed with B Cell-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, on May 17th, when she was airlifted from Harrisburg Hospital to CHOP.
Olivia started out from birth with a condition called MCAD. This is a metabolic condition/deficiency  in which her body can not convert certain fats to energy causing hypoglycemia.  Olivia was treated at CHOP and this is her home base of metabolic doctors. This condition is controlled with strict diet and medications.  Olivia's parents must keep diligent control on when and what she eats on a daily basis.  When Olivia gets a cold she doesn't get to stay home and snuggle at home in bed like other kids she gets admitted to the hospital to be monitored constantly and is placed on an IV glucose drip.  Her first year and a half of life consisted of many hospital stays and doctors visits.  Her parents Joe Garcia and Janelle Claudio finally could breathe a sign of relief that they had her condition under control and have it down to a science how to keep her happy and healthy.  Olivia is so happy despite all she has been through in her short little life.
Up until 2 weeks ago when Olivia started to not act like herself.  She became less active and moody.  She was more tired than normal and began running fevers the pediatrician was at a loss they did not have any answers to her seemingly vague symptoms until her belly began to swell as if it was full of fluid.  Olivia was in so much pain once her belly started to swell. They went the hospital and after blood work and a few tests Miss Olivia was on a helicopter heading to CHOP.  She was immediately diagnosed with B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and started on chemotherapy.  She will have to remain at CHOP for at least the next 6 weeks.  Her mother was supposed to start a new job this Monday but is unable to start because someone has to be with Olivia.  Joe would love to stay there also but he has to commute to work racking up over $400 a week in tolls and gas alone.  With one income and the expense of commuting to the hospital this family is in danger of losing everything to be with their sick daughter, while she battles cancer with a rare metabolic disorder.  Please consider donating this little girl needs her parents and a home to come back to.

Thank you so much for your consideration. God Bless.

Also, if you are looking for other ways to help other than donating here.  Gas gift cards, Walmart gift cards, and chain restaurant gift cards would be great staying away from home is very expensive and CHOP only helps with so much.
