Help 20 yr old Paraplegic Blake Monoski

Hello, this is Karen & David Colleton, we are the very proud parents of Blake Colleton.
Blake is 20 and he is our youngest child,
Blake has 2 older sister's Emily & Brittany and also a nephew Ace who is 2.
We live in Murwillumbah NSW Australia.

Blake is an amazing young man who had a serious life changing motocross accident
while competing at the MX Nationals on 27th April 2014 at Wonthaggi MX Track in Victoria, Australia.
Blake was a pro motocross rider and had been riding since the age of 4 yrs and racing since the age of 6yrs.
Motocross is something he loved with a passion, he had big dreams of racing in America one day.
He just loved racing, then all in an instant his life changed dramatically.

Blake suffered serious injuries, he broke two ribs, he also had pneumothorax (a collapsed lung)
broken T5 in his back, shattered T6 and broken T7 and he also damaged his spinal cord resulting in complete paraplegia from the chest down.
His medical term is T5 Asia A Complete Paraplegic. Blake now has two plates and 12 screws in his back.
We were told by drs that Blake would never walk again, but he will never give up.

Blake spent a total of 10 and 1/2 weeks in hospital, 2 weeks were in Victoria,
then we were transferred to Brisbane QLD where he spent 2 weeks in a hospital ward before going
into the Spinal Unit at the PA Hopsital in Brisbane for only 6 and 1/2 weeks.
From day one of the accident Blake has amazed everyone, including Dr's, nursing staff,
physio's, friends and family and even people who didn't know him.
He has such a positive attitude towards life and has been so inspiring to all.
He is full speed ahead and fully focused in everything he does.

In August 2015 Blake had the opportunity to do a sit ski (Mono Ski) camp for 4 days with Disabled Wintersport Australia,
he absolutely loved it and adapted to it from day 1.
Just recently August 2016 Blake went to do another camp with his dad David for 2 weeks, again with Disabled Wintersports Australia.
Blake improved so much in the two weeks, and he is now super keen to take it one step further.
Blake would love to purchase his own Monoski and go to the snow in USA in January 2017 for a month to train and see where this sport could take him.
The Paralympic Coach has already spoken with Blake and has said he has huge potential to race at the Paralympics one day,
he just needs to keep training and improving.
Blake is a very fit 20yr old and will do anything he puts his mind to, he has a positive mind and
everyone who knows him says that he inspires them everyday to keep going. He really is amazing !

As everyone knows anything to do with snow or being disabled and a paraplegic isn't cheap,
We would love your help to get Blake his Monoski and get him to USA to train in January/February 2018 and see where this new love of skiing will take him
in the future
The Monoski Blake would like is approx $12,000.
Any donation big or small would be greatly appreciated.

There is also a facebook page set up for Blake to follow his journey, its called raising money for Blake #31
It has all info, pics, and videos of Blake from the start of his journey of Spinal Cord Injury ( SCI )

On behalf of us all, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping our son Blake.
Karen & David Colleton xx
