Peyton Hooten Emergency MedJet Fund

Dear Friends,
First, please accept my apology for all  my grammar errors in this writing, but I am dealing with a real emergency!  And thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support.

Christopher Peyton Hooten is the 33 year old son of Chris and Carol Hooten from Springville, Alabama.  Peyton has had a type of mental illness all his adult life that has caused him to have a chronic addiction to drugs.  Chris, Carol and Peyton have fought this fight alone for over 15 years.  However, they have reached a position where they need help.  So here is a synopsis of the current situation:

On March 13, 2016, Peyton overdosed while under the supervision of a Rehab facility in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Only a quick response by the local paramedics and hospital staff at JFK Medical Center prevented Peyton from becoming just another statistic.  Peyton was still without oxygen to the brain far too long and now he has brain damage, but as of this writing the doctors cannot determine the severity of the damage.  Peyton's only brain activity is from the brain stem.  He is breathing with the assistance of a trach, and he is fed by a tube.  He has no voluntary movement of his extremities.  Everyone will agree that Peyton's situation is a tragedy.  However, the real tragedy is the strain on the family!  Peyton is in God's Hands, he will either get better or pass away.  I am writing as a friend and family representative trying to arrange Peyton's long term care, but things are quite convoluted and expensive.  At this point, the first goal is to relieve the pressure on the family by finding Peyton a long-term skilled nursing home that can handle his needs and have him transported via MedJet up to Alabama.  I have had all legal fees, the markup for transportation costs and the fees for Social Services, either waived or have an agreement to pay expenses only.  However, the "cost only" for transportation and other related costs associated with Peyton's situation is now close to $15,000 and will likely go up!  Government assistance will be applied for, but only after Peyton can get back to Alabama.  Therefore, I am asking for your financial help, not for Peyton (as I've said he is in God's Merciful Hands), but for his wonderful family who needs him closer to home.  If we can get him home, his Father, Mother, grandmother, and his children will be able to assist in his care.  Please - Let's all remember - "Except for the Grace of God, there goes I."  Please donate what you can.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
